PROPAGANDA
Our Internet page will only be used to present the dates for the event as well as to provide all the information available.
RUTOMETRO (Road Book)
As with other years, and due to the difficulties that the organization of an event of these characteristics involves, an event road book will be distributed to each athlete as well as continuous updating of information on our web site.
Also a "LEGIONAIR PASSPORT" is given, indispensable document for the event where the organization controls all different aspects such as:
- Collection of gifts
- Collection of memories
- Meals.
- Deliveries and collections of luggage, bicycles etc.
- Passage by all the controls.
ITINERARIES
There is a General Itinerary of the 101 km route, which crosses 7 towns in the Mountainous area of Ronda, beginning and finishing in Ronda. It is completely signaled for passage both for day and at night.
Each modality has differences to the General Itinerary in order to reach the required distances for each event respectively as well as the maximum times to reach those kilometers.
Secret controls throughout the Itinerary will assure "cleaning up" at the time of reaching the given distance.
PRIZES AND GIFTS
There are prizes in cash for the winners which will only be given to federated athletes and under the condition that they attend the official prize giving ceremony.
Two trophy ceremonies are organized, one for the cyclists on Saturday, and another one for the remainder of the modalities on Sunday.
The athletes who complete their itinerary in time will receive: the traditional sweater, the diploma and the finalist medal of the event. Everything will be received when crossing the finish line.
Finalists or no, everybody takes with them a collection of gifts with: a memory t-shirt, a plasticized folder, gifts of collaborating companies, stickers, etc.
The volunteers receive the same things as the finalists.
SECURITY
The security of the event rests on:
· A great number of personnel in the Organization, as well as of the officers and sub officers who organize the event.
· Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil defense and personal of the Legion.
· A transmissions and route tracking device giving coverage to all the itinerary by day and at night.
· A large amount of vehicles permanently on the move to avoid problems, to lend aid, evacuations, etc.
· A certificate signed by the athletes assuring that they have made suitable training and that they authorize to the Medical Services of the event to act should it be necessary.
· Insurance subscribed with SAFE MAPFRE.
· Activation of all the Health Centers of the area, as well as of the base hospital of the surrounding area, in addition to the EVASAN Helicopter of the South Military region.
· Reflecting material provided by MAPFRE to each runner for the night.
START
As has been the case in previous editions, the Ronda Football stadium, is the one that presents the best conditions for the start to an ever-increasing number of participants. Also it allows the organization to perfectly control the number of participants who are going to take the start. It allows the families and companions of the athletes to watch the exiting start to the race. As it is near the Ronda ring road, it does not cause any traffic problems in the city, as well as counting on lots of parking.
There is a neutralized start, the athletes follow the Local Police vehicles from the football ground to the outside of the City of Ronda crossing all of the urban zone.
They will leave by modalities, with a small time difference between each, first the cyclists, then the runners / marchers and finally the horses.
FINISH
The Finish is in the center of Ronda, indeed in the ‘Alameda del Tajo’ next to the famous Bullring.
The services that the organization at the Finish line provides are:
Pasta Supper, organization of race numbers, Arrival of event, Inn, Bazaar, Dining room for runners, Sport Medicine Conferences, Field tents with podologues and physiotherapists, Aid stations, Parking of buses for transfer of those that have finished, to the military base as well as to the sports ground. The act of giving the trophies and the Runners Fair also take place here.
PRIZE GIVING AND TROPHIES
The mentioned act will be attended by Civilian and military authorities as well as a large group of participants and relatives.
Like other years, this act will be made in the very same Finish line, with ample television and media coverage.
In addition to all of the civil categories, individual and team trophies to the military will be given.
The prizes for the men are of equal value to the female ones, same prizes, same categories and same itineraries and times.
LOGISTICS
The logistics support of the event will provide the following food support:
a -) For the sixteen foods supply points for the race.
b -) For the preparation of the two food bags and the two hot meals for the participants.
c -) For the pasta supper on Friday night.
d -) For the food of all the members of the organization.
INSURANCES
SAFE MAPFRE insures the event and all of the athletes who are not federated.
All the participants know these conditions since the signature of a Sworn Declaration is obligatory in the event in which the athlete declares not to suffer previous injury and authorizes the Medical Services of the event to intervene in case of necessity.
The presence of athletes with a federal license is promoted: cheaper inscription, possibility of cash prizes and a differentiated start.
INSCRIPTIONS
All of the inscription process takes place through Internet with inscription quotas being made to the Unicaja bank. The subscription rates depend on the inscription dates, if you are federated or not, if the athlete lives where the event passes, or if they have participated in previous editions, discounts being given to pensioners, handicapped or unemployed.
This year like in previous editions the race numbers will be given at Theater Vicente Espinel the day before race day.
The inscription gives you the right to free lodging in the Municipal Sports center of Ronda. (Do not forget your sleeping bag).
RUNNER’S FAIR
In the Finish area, in the center of the locality, free stands for exhibitors who ask for them will be provided, where the commercial houses of the sporting sector can show their materials. The fair will be opened on Friday 12 at 1500 hours and the exhibitors will retire their products the morning of Sunday 14. The food, the possibility of parking and lodging in the Ronda sports center is free.
